Laser cut mussel shell onto hand printed paper. I could get used to doing this kinda stuff :)
January 15th with 6 notes | reblogWatercolour silkscreen print onto calico. My teacher was pretty sure this wouldn’t work, but I gave it a go as an experiment and it turned out much better than expected- it really looks like it’s been painted onto paper! I think the only other way I’d get tone and detail like this onto fabric would be to use the digital printer, which takes way longer and is uber expensive. They only had lightweight calico in stock but I think something heavier will pick up more detail for next time. I’m pretty proud of myself for doing this; experimenting with techniques is something I really love and I haven’t had a mess around doing something new for ages!

Catvelvet by Wuon Gean Ho. I’ve just found this printmaker and I’ve pretty much fallen in love with her work.
January 10th with 2 notes | reblogToday in print I felt like Judge Doom from Who Framed Roger Rabbit. I had to don rubber gloves and dip my screen into this giant box of freaky blue liquid to clean it. All I could think of was that poor squeaky shoe that got dipped into the barrel of acid.
